A blog is born.

I am an ideas person. I love making connections. I am an educator, a retired media specialist, a connector, a world-traveler and a storyteller. The thing is, when I have a good story to tell, I usually pick up the phone and call A., my daughter. My audience-of-one refers to my phone-stories as “blog posts.” She has encouraged me to blog for a long time now. And by “encouraged” I mean a repeated exasperated plea: For the love of God, Mom! Get yourself a blog!

I have been resistant, convinced that no one would read it. A. points out that even if I gain only one additional reader by going online, I have already doubled my audience.

I have also been looking for more effective ways to communicate with friends while I am traveling, without having to carry along with me a lot of email addresses and sending a mass-communication “bcc” post. A. assures me posting stories and photos on this blog as they happen on my travels will be much easier for me, and more fun for all.

And so a blog is born.

What a thoughtful gift idea A! I will have to add traveling teacher to my weekly must read blogs. Hope I am part of some of the upcoming travels. Happy Mother’s Day B! mb
